4 Bridal Shower Games You’ll Actually Like

I loved these bridal shower games courtesy of the Knot.

Guest Gossip
The premise: Think of it as a live game of Clue – a great icebreaker
How to Play: Write a juicy question about how each guest is related to the bride or groom on index cards. (example: “Who went to the prom with Tim?”). Hand a card to each guest as they arrive and explain that they have 30 minutes to come up with the answer to the question. After mingling, everyone gets a chance to guess before each person finally reveals their relationship to the to-be-weds.

Purse Raid
The premise: A purse scavenger hunt
How to Play: Before the shower, create a list of standard items you might have in your purse. The host calls out an item on the list, and the first guest to pull the object out of her purse wins a prize. Start with basics (a compact, credit card, keys) and work your way up to more random objects. (dog treats, crayons)

The Newlywed Game
The premise: Put the bride in the hot seat
How to play: Before the shower, interview the groom on video about the bride and their relationship (to get started, see a list of questions at theknot.com/showers). Then, at the shower, ask the bride the same questions and see if she can answer correctly. Allow a pause between questions so you can play back the groom’s response to the previous question for everyone to see and hear.

Memory Lane
The premise: Everyone tries to figure out what the bride did with whom
How to play: Have each guest write a description of her favorite memory with the bride-to-be (the more adventurous the better) on index cards. The host will read them aloud and everyone tries to guess who…snuck out of the house to meet the bride at a high school party; met a pop star with her on a weekend in Miami; and so on.
