Dance Floors - The Focal Point of any Wedding

You may not have thought about decorations for your dance floor, but this is where guests spend a lot of time and becomes the focal point of the night. We’ve put together several ideas that will make your dance floor wow.

Outdoor wedding? Before the stars come out, use twinkle lights to set the mood for the dance floor. Something as simple as stringing the lights from 4x4’s can create a romantic atmosphere!

If you need something that involved less hardware, place the dance floor under a big Texas oak and wrap the branches with lights! This will dress up the natural décor and create soft light for the dance floor. Inside? Drape lights in strands across the ceiling.
Another great idea is to hang tons of different sized Chinese lanterns from the ceiling. You can hang these easily with fishing wire or dental floss. If you can’t light every lantern, just put lights in some of them or shine up lighting on the lanterns so it looks like they’re lit.

Another popular idea is using balloons to cover the ceiling above the dance floor. Take a bunch of helium balloons and place a clear marble inside each before you tie the balloon off. This will make the tops of the balloons point down toward your dance floor, disguising your ceiling and adding a heavenly feel to the atmosphere.
Let Details Party Rental create a custom monogram light (gobo) for you. For just $160, you can show off your wedding logo and keep it for years to come.

Real Wedding - Jennifer and Jon - 7F Lodge

Jennifer and Jon are a lovely couple who enjoy traveling, share an interest in wine and love being with friends and family. Jon combined all three of these favorites when he popped the question on November 5th, 2011. Surrounded by friends and family enjoying a day at the wineries in Gruene, Texas, Jon got down on one knee. Six months later on May 27th, 2012, the couple was happily married at 7F Lodge! Thank you to The Bird and The Bear Photography & Films for sharing these beautiful photos.

Jennifer told us the Houston-area couple had always considered a destination wedding, so 7F Lodge in College Station "was a perfect compromise between staying closer to home, yet feeling like it was a destination."

Even though there were several bumps along the road, Jennifer remained positive, saying, "I had some major issues with my dress, so I didn’t get it in time for bridals. I found a woman that does custom dress portraits and she took photos of me in the dress and made a painting on a canvas of the dress. It is breathtaking and I cherish it so much."

Jennifer was a cent-saavy bride in many ways. She told us: "I did a groom’s banana pudding
instead of cake. Jon isn’t a fan of cake anyways so I found a truffle dish and his sister worked her
magic, it was such a cool addition and everyone gobbled it up!"

After all the work was done, Jennifer shared a piece of advice for future brides:

"I would just say to try and enjoy it the best you can. People forget all the little details that most brides get so wrapped up in. Have special touches, but don’t make yourself a mad woman trying to do it all. There were a lot of things that I gave up or just didn’t have the time to accomplish, but I wouldn’t change anything because the entire experience was fun and full of memories!"

Congratulations to Jennifer and Jon!
