Jennifer told us the Houston-area couple had always considered a destination wedding, so 7F Lodge in College Station "was a perfect compromise between staying closer to home, yet feeling like it was a destination."
Even though there were several bumps along the road, Jennifer remained positive, saying, "I had some major issues with my dress, so I didn’t get it in time for bridals. I found a woman that does custom dress portraits and she took photos of me in the dress and made a painting on a canvas of the dress. It is breathtaking and I cherish it so much."
Jennifer was a cent-saavy bride in many ways. She told us: "I did a groom’s banana pudding
instead of cake. Jon isn’t a fan of cake anyways so I found a truffle dish and his sister worked hermagic, it was such a cool addition and everyone gobbled it up!"
After all the work was done, Jennifer shared a piece of advice for future brides:
"I would just say to try and enjoy it the best you can. People forget all the little details that most brides get so wrapped up in. Have special touches, but don’t make yourself a mad woman trying to do it all. There were a lot of things that I gave up or just didn’t have the time to accomplish, but I wouldn’t change anything because the entire experience was fun and full of memories!"
