The May weather was perfect for the Vidrine wedding at Double Creek Crossing. We stopped by to take a few pictures of the details, but we can’t wait to see the professional pictures! We wanted to give you a sneak peak of the fabulous event! Thanks to Katie for letting Details Event & Party Rental help with her big day!
The natural setting of the venue is one of the best in the Brazos Valley. They also have a great back-up plan in case of rain! Katie chose a bright color scheme that really popped against burgundy. The sign-in table was adorned with bengaline fabric in wine. Arriving guests strolled down the rock pathway to their seats and received a program that doubled as a fan.
The couple exchanged vows below the shade trees and a gorgeous arch adorned with orange, pink and lime flowers. Bright rose petals lined the stone aisle, and green pomander balls hung from several chairs. The bride added a pop of color with hot pink chair sashes tied to white garden chairs.
The bride’s cake table was our favorite part! Katie saw the idea of adding pearls around the cake in a magazine. She used a pearl broach to drape the linen, adding elegant detail.
Guests could also choose from a variety of homemade pies. This gives more options than the traditional groom’s cake. The couple utilized the furniture at the venue to display engagement photos. Personalizing your wedding will set it apart from others and make guests feel more connected to the couple.
The centerpieces included vase trios of varying heights with black rocks and submerged flowers. Floating candles at the top help keep the flowers in place and cast a romantic glow when the sun goes down.
The gift table was adorned with a “bright apple green” pintuck runner.
Instead of just putting the food on the table, the caterer added interest with mirrors and hurricane vases. The candle light will help guests see food when it gets a little darker. A few leftover flowers brought in the colors scheme.

Simple Summer Reception
Details had the pleasure of renting several event items for a beautifully simple wedding reception this past weekend. St. Mary's Catholic Church Activity Center provided the perfect backdrop for a natural color scheme of cremes and shades of green. The palette spoke of the sweet, romantic mood of the day.
Upon entering, guests were asked to sign the guest book that sat atop a creatively designed table. Pictures of the bride and groom decorated the table, providing friends and family with a pleasant memory!
Guests could also drop their well-wishes into a bird cage. Very sweet!
The cakes were absolutely beautiful and looked delicious.
Friends and family could also help themselves to a variety of drinks that were cleverly labeled.
While the guests' tables were adorned with creme cloths, the other tables were draped in lime for emphasis.
The centerpieces on each table were understated elegance!
Congratulations to the happy couple!

Mix it up, drink it down!
Serving drinks at a party is a must, but it is very easy for drinks to fall flat with guests if they aren't exciting. These five creative ways to serve drinks will add punch to any old punch bowl!
In these hot summer months, drinks are one of the only things cooling people down! These DIY ice straws from http://www.thinkgeek.com/ are fun and sure to keep your guests and their drinks chilled.
If you already have your drink menu planned, why not spruce it up with rock candy? This treat is tasty and serves as the perfect swizzle stick!
Guests at any event love getting involved with making their own eats. This soda maker from http://www.sodastream.com/ lets you choose from a wide variety of unique flavors. Black Currant Pear soda, anyone?
Jello shots are reminiscent of the college lifestyle. Upgrade these classics by serving them in an orange peel. So chic! First, cut the orange in half and remove the fruit from the peel. Then, pour in jello mixture to the empty peel. Refrigerate overnight and voila!
Create labels and offer guests a variety of limeades. Fruit adds interest and flavor to the beverage. These punch jars, along with many others, are available for rent at Details Event & Party Rental in College Station, Texas for $7.50 each.

July 4th Decor Ideas
My family goes all out to celebrate the Fourth of July (we're even in a boat parade every year).
We compiled an album of the best July 4th decorations we found online and put them on our website.
We can't wait to make these free printable sparkler holders and match box wraps from Twig and Thistle. Here's how to make them:
What You’ll Need:
8.5 x 11″ 80lb white card stock (like this from Paper-Source)
8.5 x 11″ 80lb white text paper (like this from Paper-Source)
Color Printer
Paper Cutter
Double Sided Tape
Ruler
Standard Hole Punch
Sparklers
Straws
Matchbooks (found at a grocery store)
Instructions:
1. Download the Matchbook and Straw Tags Template and print onto white text paper. Download the Sparkler Card Template and print onto white card stock. Print using the highest quality settings on your color printer to ensure that the patterns and text are clear.
2. Trim out all the shapes using scissors or a sharp blade and making sure to trim off all the black edges. Use a standard hole punch and punch where indicated to allow the straws to be thread through. Carefully trim out the small rectangles in the Sparkler Holders to weave the sparklers through.
3. Secure the wrap around the matchbooks with double sided tape, making sure not to cover up the striker strip. Crease the edges with your fingers or using a bone folder so that they are crisp. Thread the straw through the holes and position towards the top of the straw. Thread the sparklers through the slots.
We hope everyone has a safe holiday!

Pink and black bridal shower
Michelle Campbell--Greene with Crafted Weddings and Events in College Station rented decorations from Details for her client's pink and black bridal shower! We are so happy with how the event came out! Michelle chose a color scheme that matched Party Palace's. It is much easier to match the decorations to the venue's look and feel than to try and transform the venue to match the decorations.
Using giant martini glasses as a centerpiece was perfect for this occasion.
The tables were simple, yet sophisticated. Pink silverware popped on the black tablecloth.
Party Palace here in College Station was the perfect venue for this shower.
The food and beverage table was separated from the rest by using a pink tablecloth, but they used another martini glass centerpiece to continue the similar theme.
These pink cotton candy cocktails are too cute! They were just the right serving size for the shower.

This one's for the boys!
We don't often talk about men in many of our posts, but when we saw these ale-inspired beer bashes, we couldn't help but propose a toast! These ideas are great for anyone who loves a good brew, and with Father's Day coming up, think about incorporating several of these PITCHER perfect themes into his celebration.
Decorating for this event shouldn't be a problem. Beer is the centerpiece... literally!
These bottle cap pomanders are masculine, yet stylish.
Ale, lager, brew, etc. Whatever you call it, you will need a little substance before this party gets a little too crazy. These bar snacks are tasty!
We love this party's menu written on a chalkboard. Sliders really create a casual pub vibe.
The best part is you can have your guests BYOB. Your expense will be cut in half!
